Anfield, le jardin de Man Utd? MY FOOT.

First things first: The Kop chanting the anthem ‘You ll never walk alone’ before the match raised the hackles down my back. Truly hypnotising.
Less hypnotisin was the awful start of the Reds where they took an early goal scored by an unmarked Tevez. I think LFC took the goal because Arbeloa was not where he should have been, that is at the back, defending. If there is one player that I want out of the team, then it him. And i was also unimpressed by the other spanish, Aurelio.
One goal down, at this stage of the match is a shame. And I was already thinkin of the excuses that I would be barkin to the celebratin Man Utd fans. Admittedly my stock of excuses was wearin out.
Passin over Van Der Saar’s save which denied Kuyt a goal by the 11th min of the game, I come to the own goal of Wes Brown at 26 mins. The ball was palmed by Der Saar which bounced on Brown and found the net, under pressure from Riera.
The 44192 (less the handful of Man Utd fans present at Anfield) crowd roared as the goal came with the effect of a shot in the arm. Liverpool was now building more neatly with a vaillant Kuyt, an ever present Mascherano and a convincing Riera, who made way for Babel at the 71 mins of the game.
The substitute scores for Liverpool from nearly the same position as Tevez did for Man Utd. Theoretically this is the first time in 7 Premier League years that Liverpool is infront of Man Utd. The match came to an end in front of an ever so vibrant Kops crowd who went directly to the nearby pub to celebrate.

Play ‘Baraz’ on campus

Gaston Valayden’s well acclaimed play ‘Baraz’ will be staged this Thursday 11th September at noon in the Raised Plaza on campus. The play, which lasts 45 minutes, will be followed by a debate on the theme of ethnic conflicts (‘communalisme’ as we say in Creole).

Synopsis:
2 Mauritian families of different communities are at loggerheads (except for their respeective son and daughter). One day, they decide to create a fence between the two houses whilst pouring communal abuse upon each other… until a cyclone devastates the region and their fence.

The objective of the event is to create human rights awareness and sensitize students on the problematic of communalism in the country.

The event is organised by Amnesty International.

Entrance is free.
