Work Placements

To students who are currently in Year 3:
(as at January 2011)
Work Placement II (5 credits) is normally scheduled for the break between Year 3 and Year 4 (i.e. around June 2011) so that you register for the module at the beginning Semester 1 of Year 4 (i.e. in August 2011) and submit the report by the end of Semester 1 of Year 4 (i.e. around November 2011).

Students can already plan ahead for their placement which may be done as from January 2011. Work Placement II is a 180 hours placement (the equivalent of 6 weeks full-time) which may be done on a part-time basis. It should be done in the field of specialisation.

Please use the following pack:
All forms should be sent to me for approval before you start any placement.

Those who already work in the field of specialisation may opt for a work report (which counts for 2 credits) and an additional elective of 3 credits instead of the Work Placement II.

Students who are in Year 3 and who still need to complete the Work Placement I should use the following updated pack.
If you have already secured or completed an approved work placement, you may register for the module this semester. You will then need to submit the placement report by end of November 2010. All forms should be sent to me for approval before you start any placement.
Reminder: Work Placement I (4 credits) is a 120 hours placement (the equivalent of 4 weeks full-time) which may be done on a part-time basis. We are flexible about the field of specialisation. for the first work placement.

Archives (2009-2010)
Reminder: All reports for both Work Placement 2 and Work Report should be submitted in 2 copies (make a 3rd copy which you can keep for yourself as we will not give back your reports) by 31st March 2010 30th April in the Registry for those who have registered for this semester.
Please also make sure that the host firm sends the evaluation form by e-mail ( or by fax (465-6184) directly to me as soon as you have finished your placement. This is mandatory and counts in the evaluation of the placement.

  1. Dear madam,

  2. Dear Rizwana,
Yes I already have it. No need to send again. Are you doing interesting things?

    @ Brayan,
Are you a Communication student? If you are, you will have to do a placement after the first semester of your second year. But nothing prevents you from doing a placement on your own. I woul in fact encourage those who can to do additional placements to beef up your experience.
